Stratford Intellectual Property Vice President Myriam Davidson will moderate an expert panel on Strategic IP and Canadian Innovation at the 21st Canadian Semiconductor Science and Technology Conference (CSSTC), taking place August 25–27, 2026, at the University of Ottawa.
The panel, taking place Wednesday, August 26 at 3:20 p.m., will bring together perspectives from academia, industry, entrepreneurship and intellectual property to explore the role of IP in supporting Canadian innovation and moving new technologies toward commercialization.
Intellectual property plays an important role in turning innovation into commercial and competitive advantage, but how IP is managed can look very different depending on the technology and where that innovation originates.
Moderated by Myriam, the discussion will explore key IP issues within the context of the Canadian innovation landscape, including IP commercialization and marketing, university approaches to IP management, the needs of SMEs, and the value and strategic use of patents.
