"We consider Stratford Group a valued and trusted partner...Best of all is how they work: they listen, adjust, and create a real partnership with us. I would highly recommend them to any organization looking for strategic advice or support."

An Interview with Kathie.

Beyond our credentials, what sets us apart are the values we share and the ways we work. Every member of our team has a passion for giving back and helping organizations reach their goals. It’s why clients often tell us that when they met our people, they knew they wanted to do business with us.

To help you get to know us a little better, we sat down with some of our team members and interviewed them on everything from professional experience and obstacles to extracurricular activities and playlist recommendations. We thought you may appreciate seeing the personal side of our team through their shared personal insights, recommendations and hobbies.

What do you hope your clients take away from working with you/Stratford?

I hope clients walk away from working with me—and Stratford—feeling confident, supported, and heard. Our goal is always to bring clarity to complex challenges, offer practical, thoughtful solutions, and leave clients with tools and insights that make a lasting impact. Most of all, I want them to feel that we were true partners in helping them move forward with confidence.

What do you think makes Stratford unique?

What makes Stratford unique is its combination of a small, agile team with a strong sense of purpose. The firm's mission and values—centered on meaningful client impact, integrity, and collaboration—align closely with my own. Stratford’s size fosters genuine connection, flexibility, and the ability to contribute in visible and valued ways.

What is your favourite part of your job or type of client engagement?

My favourite part of the job is building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted partner in their work. I enjoy engagements where I can make a meaningful impact—helping organizations navigate complex challenges and seeing the real-world value of thoughtful, well-aligned solutions. It’s especially rewarding when clients know they can count on us not just for expertise, but for understanding and support.

What is your favourite way to give back to your community?

My favourite way to give back is by volunteering my time to support kids’ sports. As a parent of three, I’ve seen firsthand how sports help build confidence, teamwork, and resilience—and I’m a big believer in the positive impact they have on kids’ development.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Believe in yourself.

What is a skill you think everyone should have?

I think everyone should have the skill of active listening. It builds trust, strengthens relationships, and helps you truly understand the needs, perspectives, and emotions of others—whether you're working with clients, colleagues, or your own team.

What do you listen to while at work?

News and news talk radio

What is your most used productivity hack?

My go-to productivity hack is taking control of my time management—being intentional about how I plan my day, setting boundaries, and making space for what really matters. It helps me stay focused and deliver my best work without burning out.

What is something you’ve done/tried but will never do again?

Making sourdough. Just buy it.
