Position: Trademark Administrative Specialist | Location: Virtual (willing to travel to Ottawa)


Vacancy Type: New Position | Salary Range: $61, 000 – $68,000 per year prorated | Part-time 15-21 hours/week – 12-month Contract

This role will report into the Intellectual Property business unit and will be based primarily from home with occasional requirements to be in Ottawa.

What You Will Do and The Value You Will Add

With your trademark administration experience, you will help the Stratford Intellectual Property team support clients in implementing and managing their IP strategies and assets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and filing Canadian and Madrid trademark applications.
  • Preparing and organizing United States (US) trademark applications.
  • Processing and docketing Trademark Office correspondence and monitoring deadlines.
  • Reviewing and reporting official correspondence (including but not limited to approval notices, advertisements, confirmations of change of name/title).
  • Liaising with clients and outside counsel during the trademark lifecycle.
  • Organizing and filing trademark office action responses at the CIPO.
  • Managing registration.
  • Managing renewals.
  • Maintaining a proactive approach to quality assurance by identifying and correcting errors or discrepancies.
  • Coordinating among cross-functional teams.
 

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of trademark administration
  • Experience with IP Management Software (FoundationIP) and Trademark Offices
  • Paper-free office
