Meet Natalie Giroux. The Founder of Stratford Intellectual Property, Natalie now supports clients and the Stratford team in a part-time advisory capacity following her retirement as President in 2025. 

Formerly President of Stratford Intellectual Property, Natalie built and led a team of IP Strategy experts in delivering end-to-end IP strategy and implementation services, including a full-service patent agency and IP consultancy to lean in as trusted strategic advisors. Together they have helped over 100 companies and individuals.

A pragmatic achiever with extensive experience in strategic intellectual property management, network performance engineering and technical due diligence, Natalie founded the IP Strategy practice at Stratford Group in 2009 by supplementing the offerings of traditional IP agencies and acting as a strategic advisor to design comprehensive IP strategies, covering all types of IP, that is tailored toward achieving the business objectives.

Over the years she transformed the practice into a full service patent and trademark agency. Rebranded as Stratford Intellectual Property, the practice disrupted the way that IP strategy and portfolio management are being delivered by taking a business-focused, pragmatic, and proactive approach to IP strategy implementation.

An innovator in her own right, Natalie has always been committed to making intellectual property strategy more accessible. Throughout her career, she has helped innovators and organizations with portfolios of all sizes develop practical strategies that not only protect innovation but also support broader business goals.

With the support and creativity of her team, she helped create a unique collection of curated content focused on innovation and IP strategy that continues to form the foundation of Stratford Intellectual Property's approach. Together, they also developed practical IP literacy resources designed to empower organizations to make more informed intellectual property decisions. 

Natalie's leadership and contributions to the profession have been recognized internationally. Since 2021, she has ranked on the IAM Strategy 300 global list of Leading IP Strategists, an annual guide of individuals who have demonstrated the ability to deliver world-class IP value creation service offering.

What is one piece of advice you find yourself constantly sharing with your clients?

Think long term.

 

How do you add value to your clients?

I add value by listening to their need and goals, trying to think ahead on what they should do to achieve their objectives and then implementing it for them.
